Q: How much do you charge?
When I made my first webcomic book, "Then This Happened... A diary bout breast cancer", it was a much larger size. It's because I first started drawing it in larger page formats, and it has over 350 pages. Because of that, the first paperback book is actually $14.
Moving forward, I started messing with the sizes a little bit more, and now I do them in a more pocket-size comic strip format, like Peanuts paperback books in the 8x5 inch size. I was able to charge a little bit less for them. So those books go for about $8.
But when I first started making these books, I really focused on selling the printed books. However, in the past few years, I decided to start focusing more on trying to promote the ebooks. So for the ebooks, I charge $2.99 - $3.99.
The reason I switched my focus to ebooks is because there's a thing called Kindle Unlimited.
So Kindle has a service that's kind of like Spotify meets Netflix for readers. There are readers who read a lot of books on Kindle and have an Amazon account. They can buy a subscription to read as many books as they want. So when people read my books in Kindle Unlimited I get paid for each page of my book they read, like Spotify does for musician's songs. So I focus more now on ebooks.
