Sometimes when I find these things I collect out in the world I even wonder if they were actually the same ones I owned.

And then a bunch flew inside when I went back in so I was chasing those all over the place.

They always get back to me pretty soon afterward.

At the beginning of 2020 when I decided to go into business for myself I figured it was time to rename the whole thing to kind of make myself start from scratch and see what it would take. I used to be a web developer so it was kind of just a fun challenge for me to update everything I had online. One of the challenges that I had was not only switching my email to the new domain I use but also making it so that all of the previous connections that I had also went to this new email. The place had actually been cleared out already so it wasn't as good as the other day .

I was going through some of the Pop-Culture items I sold when my new Linux laptop arrived from System 76 . So I spent the rest of the day messing around with that. I always seem to remember the most random things when we drive through my old neighborhood.

With the way things have been in the world, it just hasn't really felt like summer to me yet. Even though it's already the middle of July.

It was strange to stand and talk on the street but couldn't think of where else to go on short notice.

Now that I'm able to get back into my train car that I'm turning into an art & recording studio after construction started last year, I wanted to see how the progress to get it set up was going. There's like 85 different graphic tees but just 3 kinds of shoes. Also, I was gonna write tennis shoes in the comic which sounds correct when I say it. But written out it looked strange. I was on the fence about sneakers.

While setting these up I realized I should start scheduling some interviews for the podcast too.

I got two boxes of vintage books from an online auction for 8 bucks and I wasn't even sure what I got. But I know some of these will sell pretty quick in my eBay store. I'm sure I'll get it sorted out. I just don't want to have to sit through the hold music song for 20 minutes again .

Normally we would have been out there working on stuff together. Guess he was hoping I was still keeping that up too.

After looking at some of the pop-culture items I sold today I get a box of vintage illustrated books for $10 and discover it's filled with some total gems! Then I draw about it in my daily webcomic. We've actually made tons of progress for working remotely using Ubuntu studio and GitHub . But the set up does take time.

I actually don't mind the heat.

It was the same hold music the whole time.

It's been almost a year since I've been able to get into the train car I am turning into an art and recording studio. Walking by it today I noticed some significant progress! It's amazing to find things that I just think are neat and post them online to see if they sell. An old handheld game or a bake-it glass owl ornament from the 70s to name a few. I was eventually able to explain the situation and they are going to look into it. So it's closer to getting figured out at least.

I felt bad for the person in the call center. They really seemed like this was very confusing to them.

Just the chorus part though. I don't think I even know the whole song.

Here is some illustration artwork from a vintage magazine digest I found from 1962 called " Calling all girls ". This was a magazine that was for teens that later became Young Miss magazine. It has a lot of really cool two-color illustrations for each of the articles in the digest. If you would like to see more of the books that I've collected from resale shops over the years I also sell them in my eBay store . Each issue also had a minicomic called Tizzie by  Kate Osann . Tizzy, the title character, was a stereotypical teen-aged American girl. The episode drawn in this comic was Tizzie and her first job as a babysitter. And much like the rest of the book it used a two-color theme. I actually like to try and recreate old ads like this and repurpose the artwork by illustrating them for band flyers.  If you would like to see more of the books that I've collected from resale shops over the years I also sell them in my eBay store .
